Cross-allergy

Sometimes it happens to someone who is allergic to a substance, also experienced the same reaction when in contact with another, related matter. If someone is allergic to cow's milk and show the same response even when the beef comes to cross-allergy. To specific allergens, which are mutually related, the body responds similarly.

It is interesting that the allergens birch, alder, hazel, beech and oak almost identical and lead to cross-reaction. The reason lies in the fact that there is between the pollen of birch and alder and stone fruit, cherries, apricots, peaches and apples and nuts so-called botanical relatives (they contain similar proteins), thus causing cross-allergy.

More info here If a person is sensitized to an allergen, may be in contact with another allergen triggers an allergic reaction. In pollen-food allergy cross comes after food to itching, swollen lips, tongue and throat, hoarseness. It can also cause abdominal cramps, vomiting, urticaria, general weakness, diarrhea, fever, watery eyes. More severe general signs may include choking, difficulty swallowing, a reduction in blood pressure and loss of consciousness (anaphylaxis).
