What are vitamins?

Vitamins are organic substances necessary for life. Are essential for normal functioning of the body to regulate metabolism and growth, reproduction and functioning of tissues and organs. The human body can not produce vitamins or are produced in insufficient quantities. Sun (ultraviolet rays) promote the formation of vitamin D in the skin, intestinal bacteria produce vitamin K and biotin. I vitamins A, E, C, B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid and pantothenic acid the body can not produce alone, so we need to enter the food or vitamin products.

Each vitamin has a role. No one vitamin can not replace other vitamin or any other nutrient. Life is thus not possible without basic vitamins.
